Plassing walls, this is such a process that cannot be dispensed with without making any wall repairs. It doesn’t matter which coating you choose for the finish, but the preparation of walls always remains a preliminary step on which the quality of the coating depends. That is why the plastering of the walls is always given a lot of attention. The leveling of the walls has to be done and, alas, in new buildings, and, of course, in old houses.
In the first case, you can do with minor alignment, and in the second case, you have to remove the previous layers, up to the base of the structure. Before starting work, get the necessary tools – a trowel, a mason hammer, a spatula, a rule, a large brush for white and a plumb line.
Do not forget to purchase the plaster mixtures themselves. Determining them, be sure to follow the instructions attached to them. At first (if you are going to plaster the walls in a new building), knock down all the protruding influx of concrete and plaster (the surface should be even), then apply notch with a hammer (for better adhesion). In cases where you will put plaster on the brick base or mesh of the “rabits”, this is not necessary to do this.
If you are going to plaster the old walls, then check whether the previous layer is well held, this can be installed with light tapping along the entire area of the plaster. The layer that adjacent to the wall will be responding with an “empty sound”. If you find such voids, you will have to clean the entire layer, otherwise the new plaster will disappear with the old layer. If the previous layer is held normally, then it is quite possible to do with degreasing the surface and simple washing. When making wall repair, it must also be remembered that it is very difficult to apply the plaster and metal structures, this is how the initial concreting of such surfaces on the steel grid is required (for metal surfaces, concrete is put 25-45 mm thick).
In the case of a wooden base, with the exception of cases when your walls are made of a looped log, it is enough to create a grid, the upholstery of the walls with a fight (or laying the “rabits”). After that, you can calmly plaster the walls. Before the last step in the repair of walls – plastering, it is necessary to drain all the surfaces. To do this, they are abundantly moistened with water using a white brush.
You can make it easier for yourself and spray the walls from the spray. This must be done so that the dust particles do not prevent the plaster layer to tightly stick to the surface of the walls. When you finish this, your walls will be ready to apply any finish coating.
