Before performing the floor of any material – ceramic tiles, linoleum, parquet or laminate, it is necessary to prepare the base qualitatively. A great solution would be the formation of a dry screed.
All work on the manufacture of such a screed is divided into several stages. Compliance with all instructions and recommendations will allow you to easily lay any floor covering on a dry screed.
First you need to remove all small garbage in the room. If there are cracks between the wall and the base of the floor, then it is recommended to fill them with cement mortar or foam. After drying, the foam is cut off.
The sound in the room is transmitted from walls to floor. In order to prevent this and ensure the sound insulation of the room, you need to lay a special tape made of foamed polyethylene around the entire perimeter. The tape can be securely fixed using double -sided tape.
The next stage is the installation of a vapor barrier layer. To do this, you need to lay a plastic film on the floor surface, which should rise 5 – 10 cm above the layer of screed. If the film needs to be cut, then it is overlapping, with a fasting of 15 – 20 cm.
After all preparatory work, you can proceed directly to the formation of the screed. First you need to pour into the places where there will be guides, a layer of expanded clay. As guides, you can use the rules that are aligned using the level. The material fraction should be no more than 5 mm. Due to the fact that expanded clamps have a different size, the material is evenly distributed on the surface. A layer of sprinkled expanded clay should be at least 3 cm.
Then the rest of the expanded clay is poured between the guides and is leveled by the rule according to the guides. When the layer is distributed over the surface, you can lay the GSP. In order not to damage the expanded clay layer, it is recommended to lay small pieces of plywood, drywall or the same GSP under the feet. The slabs are glued together by PVA and fastened with self -tapping screws at a distance of 10 cm from each other. Each row of GSP is installed with a displacement between themselves (as when working with a laminate).
When all the plates are laid, excess soundproof tape and vapor barrier film are cut off. Now any material can be laid on the surface of the screed.
Work on creating such a screed can even an inexperienced person. In addition, the process itself does not take much time, and the result will undoubtedly delight the owner of the apartment.
