The car manufacturer Tesla is accused of some systems in its cars not functioning properly. This time, a lawsuit on three points important for the safe operation of cars was filed in Australia.
All owners of Tesla Model 3 and Model Y electric cars who bought them since May 2021 are invited to join the class action lawsuit, foreign media write.
In particular, there is a claim to the declared range on one charge: Australian car owners complain that they cannot achieve even 75% of the passport autonomy in the car. Because of this, the ease of use is reduced.
The second point in the lawsuit is the autopilot: according to lawyers, the name used by Tesla misleads buyers, because in fact the cars do not meet the stated requirements.
Another reason for dissatisfaction of car owners is the so-called phantom braking. The issue is that driver assistants sometimes see non-existent obstacles and activate the automatic emergency braking system. This can cause a serious accident, and such behavior of the car will be unexpected for other road users.
It is worth noting that Tesla owners from other countries have also complained about such phantom braking. In particular, technical experts in Germany admitted that the “autopilot” system does not function normally and does not provide the functions declared by the manufacturer and expected by the buyer.
