As a rule, some small household pads or randomness always happen that can lead to big troubles or loss of money. One of these classic linings is to flow in the bathroom or pouring water. Despite the automatic measures of water drainage, it is often spilled. In order for this not to be a constant phenomenon and does not threaten the floor and neighbors from below, you can make a special screen under the bathroom, which provides reliable protection against leaks. There are a number of effective tips that will help to do this procedure quickly and most efficiently as possible.
In particular, the screen, which is installed under the bathroom, must be placed on a frame, which is made from a solid tree of 40 cm. They are connected to each other so that they are located from the edges of the bathroom itself and are reliably attached to the walls. If the bathroom is in the corner of the room, and this happens often quite often, it is a little easier to do, but in principle, the work scheme offered below is well suitable for almost any form of planning the bathroom.
First you need to draw a vertical line on the wall with a plumb line, which should touch the corner of the bathroom. Then we also draw a second line, which should be located in the parallel with the first, but at a distance to it 2.5 cm. Then the first line can be erased. A plumb line is applied to the corner and a hammer, point or other control mark is placed on the floor. After that, draw a square, in which one angle rests against the indicated position and has sides 2.5 cm long. This square should be placed strictly at the bottom of the sides at the bathroom. Accordingly, measure the distance that is necessary in order to create a reserve for the thickness of the panel of the screen itself and for the sake of its skin (for example, tiles). After one of the angles at the square, you need to draw a line diagonal from a point opposite to the one marked with a plumb line – to the base of the lines applied to the wall.
After preparing the bars of the desired diameter for the vertical part of the frame, 4, for horizontal – 2. Bars are cut off the desired length, in accordance with the size of the bathroom. And in order for the entire structure to be more stable, the lower bars are better to firmly screw to the floor. The frame is assembled with the help of four corners, where it will be mounted on the wall, holes in the frame and in the wall itself are drunk and the frame is attached with screws.
For the screen, you can select a couple of chipboard panels with a thickness of up to 16 mm, or you can take moisture -resistant drywall – you need to select a small panel that corresponds to the small side of the frame in size. Need to prepare loops and metal clamps. A hole is cut in a large panel to create a viewing window, which will be used to control the pipes and the state of drain. Its value is calculated on the basis of what will be facing for the screen.
This window with loops is fixed in the end of the hole and attached by a metal clamp from the side of the end, the opposite to the one that it should close. Then the smaller of the panels is attached to the side frame, and the large panel is installed in its place along the entire screen. We need to make sure that the whole structure is stable and straight angles are everywhere designed correctly. And after that you can screw the panel on the frame. It is clear that before the commission of all these procedures, it is advisable to carry out all the necessary work with pipes and drain.
