Many people think that installing a bath is a common thing, especially the instruction for each new model promises to install exclusively on the legs.
But as the construction practice shows, the installation of the bath is far from always limited by one legs – it is necessary to raise the bathroom, fix it to the wall and isolate the edges with a sealant.
How to install a bath with low legs correctly?
European -made baths are made so that the distance from the bottom of the bath is extremely close to the floor.
Of course, if the sewage system in the apartment passes as low as possible (sometimes even hidden to the floor), then this option does not imply an increase in height, but in most multi -storey houses the sewage system is arranged in such a way that it is necessary to raise the bathroom more so that the water from the bath leaves faster.
If the measurements showed that the knee is above the runoff, then it is necessary to raise the bathroom. You can do this in several ways:
– If the legs do not need to be hidden under the tile, then the bathroom can be raised to specially cut squares of floor tiles (legs and tiles are attached to tile glue or concrete);
– If the legs are hidden under tiles or design allow them to hide them separately, then you can substitute tiles, wooden blocks and fix the entire base of the bath with concrete (for reliability), and hide everything under the tile.
How to fix the bath if they do not hold the legs?
Quite often you can encounter an additional problem – the bathroom legs simply do not stand on the tile, glide, although they were attached exactly according to the instructions.
In order not to look for the causes of improper fasteners for a long time (as a rule, a fake or poor tile), you must immediately consider a plan for fastening a bath.
The first step
After you tried to install the bathroom (simultaneously measuring the flow level), it is necessary to fix its height, marking the place for attaching dowels with a pencil.
The second step
The sides of the bath will serve as an excellent mount for dowels, which must be screwed into the wall in advance and put the bathroom on the legs and fasteners.
And the third
Dowels and bolts should be strong, screw it to the wall as tight as possible – so the bathroom will not move.
What to do if the bath does not fit on the wall?
The irregularities of the walls can create entire holes between the bathroom and the wall, where the water will run during bathing.
You can close them using sealant and plastic skirting boards, which will not only protect the tile and floor from the water, but also create a certain design.
