When the surface of the furnace or fireplace is leveled and well dried, you can start laying ceramic tiles. To do this, you can use the adhesive mixture, which will need to be prepared in accordance with the instructions, or mastic, which has heat -resistant characteristics. When breeding the solution, there are some general rules that consist in falling asleep the dry mixture into the water, and not vice versa, bringing it to a homogeneous mass and it must be spent until the moment of hardening, therefore it is not recommended to do a large amount of mixture. It is applied with a spatula with small cloves in the shape of the letter P, on the surface itself or on the inside of the tile, after which it is required to clamp the canvas to the base. If it is difficult to do this with your hands, then you can use a special rubber hammer. If the tile of the excess of the solution appears after pressing the tile, it is necessary to immediately remove it, not allowing to harden. It is recommended to periodically check the laying of tiles with a level, since after drying the glue to fix the flaws will be quite difficult. So that the seams between the canvases are the same, then special crosses are installed, on each side of the tiles. When we finish the laying of tiles, you need to give a day to dry the glue, and after that we proceed to grout of the seams. To do this, first remove all previously installed crosses and completely clean the surface of the tiles from the remains of the adhesive composition. Then we prepare the grouting mixture according to the instructions and, if necessary, you can give it the desired color shade using the corresponding tint. When the solution is prepared, we begin to fill the seams, and it is done with a rubber spatula. Then we give a couple of hours to dry it, and clean the surface of excess grout, for example, using a rag.
